FAQ
Below you will find my FAQ relating to placing orders, commissioning custom illustrations and artwork usage. If you can’t find the answer to what you’re looking for here, please feel free to drop me a message and I’ll be happy to help you.
For orders through my Etsy, Teemill or SumUp stores, please visit the respective stores for more info and FAQs.
How Do You Create Your Commissioned Artwork?
All my artwork is either hand drawn digitally (using my Apple pencil in Procreate) or created using traditional drawing and painting methods.
I do not use AI nor do I support the scraping of artists’ artwork to create generative art. I believe in human made artwork, for humans, and that the process of creating custom artwork should be uniquely personal to you.
How Much Does It Cost To Commission Artwork?:
Prices will vary depending on the type of artwork you’d like to commission. Artwork usage, scale, style, detail, materials and timeframe are just some of the factors I will need to consider.
Do you have an idea in mind for a commission? Please contact me to discuss your requirements and I can send you a quote menu.

How My Commissions Process Works:
Securing Your Commission Slot:
Once we have agreed on your commission requirements and price, I will offer you a commission slot date. If you are happy to go ahead, I will ask you to pay a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure your commission slot.
I will send you my business bank account details for you to make the payment. Alternatively, I can send you a secure payment link via SumUp.
Please note that I cannot guarantee commission slot availability, especially at busier times, such as the run-up to Christmas. If you have a particular date to meet (such as a birthday or anniversary), please book early to avoid disappointment. Please also consider allowing enough time for you to frame your piece (if required), once you’ve received it.
Photo Reference Material:
When your commission slot is booked, I may need you to gather suitable reference photos ready for that date. This will be mandatory for my Portrait Commissions. Please note, if you wish to use photos taken by a professional photographer, you’ll need to check with them that we’re allowed to use their pictures as reference please. You are responsible for ensuring that any necessary permissions have been obtained for the use of reference material, photos or visuals supplied for the creation of your artwork.
Please note that I cannot include logos within your design, unless you can provide express permission for usage.
Visuals and Final Proof:
Throughout the design process I will be communicating with you on the progress of your design. For this reason it’s very important that you regularly check your emails for updates. Any delay during the visual and proofing stage could delay when you receive your final artwork.
I will create a layout visual and email it over to you, to check you’re happy with the composition. At this point it’s easy for me to make any changes for you, to get your design just right.
Once you’re happy with the visual I’ll complete the final line-work and colour for you to approve. By this point I can still make more minor tweaks, including changes to the colour).
When you’re happy to approve you’re final artwork I’ll require the balance payment. Once payment is received, I will send you over your final high resolution artwork file (JPEG or PDF). Depending on the size of your final artwork file, this will either be sent as an email attachment or download link.
At this point, I will also send your artwork file to print (if applicable).
What Size Artwork Should I Order?:
This may depend on your budget, where the artwork will go in your home or if you’ll be wanting to send it on to friends or family.
My standard sizes are A4, A3, A2, as these allow for ease of framing.
If you are looking to for anything larger please contact me to discuss your requirements and I can quote on an individual basis.
Delivery Policies:
I am currently only able to send items within the UK. If you would like to order from outside the UK, please contact me for prices and delivery policies.
All my limited-edition art prints, commissioned artworks and original artworks are dispatched using Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For, unless otherwise stated.
All other orders are sent as Royal Mail 1st Class.
Please note that for commissioned artwork, the production time I advise indicates how long it will take for the item to be ready for postage. This is NOT how long it will take to arrive with you.
UK shipping usually takes 1-3 working days. These times may increase slightly during busier periods, such as Christmas, so please bear this in mind when ordering.
If you need an item for a specific date or would like your item tracked (if that isn’t already the default shipping method) then please get in touch BEFORE ordering. This will help avoid disappointment and will allow me to factor in any additional shipping costs for you.
All items are appropriately packaged in order to ensure they reach you safely.
Please note that all orders are shipped to the address given when you place your order. Please ensure your address is correct before checkout.
If an item is sent back to me due to non-collection, or due to an incorrect address, I will contact you and arrange for the item to be sent out again, and you will be charged again for the shipping.
If you have not received your order within the 5 working days after the date your parcel was due to be delivered, then please contact me and we can discuss the appropriate course of action to resolve any problems.
What If I Don’t Like Design?:
I want to create artwork for you that you’ll absolutely love and treasure, so my commission process is very much collaborative.
I’ll be keeping you in the loop at each stage of the design process, to ensure you are happy and everything is on track. I will be ready to act on your feedback and edit your design until it’s just right for you. That’s why it’s incredibly important that you’re able to reply to emails and approve visuals and proofs throughout the process.
Please contact me in the first instance if you have any concerns at all about your order or artwork, and I’ll do everything in my power to help.
I strive to ensure that the process of working with me be both a collaborative and enjoyable experience, for all involved.
Do You Offer Framing?:
I don’t generally offer framing for my commissioned work, nor do I have frames in stock. But if you would like framing adding to your commission, please contact me for current availability and prices. All my artwork is framed locally, so availability is subject to my framers current stock.
Unless you can collect locally from Lincoln (which would be free), I prefer not to post framed pictures as this can be expensive and risk damage. I would always encourage you to find a local framer or frame shop, if you’re able to, so you can frame (and ideally mount) your piece exactly as you’d like it.
Artwork Copyright and Usage:
I own the copyright to all artwork featured on this website.
Copyright is not transferable with the sale of this print and as a buyer you not entitled to reproduction rights.
I do not, under any circumstances, consent to my artwork being used for the training of AI.
If you would like to use my artwork please contact me and I’ll be happy to discuss licensing options.
Business/Commercial Commissions:
I love working with businesses (large and small!) so please drop me a message to discuss your requirements. I’d love to chat!
Returns & exchanges:
When you buy goods from a business, in law you have a number of rights as a consumer. These include the right to claim a refund, replacement, repair and/or compensation where the goods are faulty or misdescribed. Please contact me within 30 days if you experience any problems with items purchased from me.
Return and exchanges are not available on my custom digital artwork. If however you encounter any problems with your custom artwork please contact me in the first instance, so I can endeavour to rectify the problem for you.
Cancellations:
Cancellations for my commissioned artwork are subject to charge, depending on the stage of the commission process.
I require commission bookings to be secured by a 30% non-refundable deposit.
If you decide to cancel a commission once I have started your artwork, you will need to pay a cancellation fee as follows:
50% of the agreed fee if the commission is cancelled after the initial 1st visual stage.
100% of the agreed fee if the commission is cancelled at final approval stage.
Please contact me if you have any problems at any stage with your order.
Do You Design Tattoos?:
No, I don’t. And my first question back to you would be ‘who is going to do your tattoo?’. I would always recommend finding an experienced tattooist who works in the style you like, who you trust and who will be happy to design something for you. Not every tattooist will want to tattoo someone else’s design, plus a good tattooist will be far more knowledgeable about what kind of image will work best as a tattoo.
Can I Have One of Your Designs Tattooed On Me?:
Yes, I’d be honoured! As long as you aren’t using my images for anything else, and you be sure to take a photo and tag me in it! I’d love to see!
